Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to explore body image and the quality of life by time-series of women who received breast surgery either mastectomy or conserving.

Methods: Participants were 284 breast cancer patients who had undergone surgery and obtained follow up care at a general hospital in D city. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson"s correlation, ¥ö©÷ ANCOVA & Tukey test.
Results: Participants who received breast conserving surgery showed higher level of body image and quality of life than their mastectomy counterpart. The levels of body image by time series after breast surgery were significantly different, while those of quality of life were not.

Conclusion: Participants" levels of quality of life were not improved by time-series. Nurses need to support women with breast surgery by providing continuous care even after 5 years after surgery.
